[ARCHIVED] Memorial Day: Day of Remembrance Ceremony

Day of Remembrance Ceremony May 29

The City of Brevard announced its upcoming Memorial Day event, which will take place on May 29 to honor the sacrifices made by our brave servicemembers. The American Legion will host this year's ceremony, which promises to be a memorable and meaningful tribute to those who have given their lives in service to our country.

The Day of Remembrance Ceremony will be held at 11:00 a.m. on the front lawn of the Transylvania County Courthouse on East Main Street. The ceremony will feature keynote speaker Colonel Richard Bennett, US Army (Ret), who will pay tribute to those who made the ultimate sacrifice to protect our nation. While a parade is not part of the celebration, the event will include a wreath-laying ceremony, a presentation of colors, a recognition of Gold Star families, and a moment of silence to honor our fallen heroes.
