NCDOT will begin upgrading and replacing curb ramps at intersections along Main Street at the end of May. This work marks the first phase of the state’s infrastructure enhancements downtown, which will culminate in the milling and repaving of Main Street later this summer.
Mobilization will begin as early as Tuesday, May 30. Residents and visitors should expect to see periodic sidewalk closures and, potentially, some intermittent lane closures.
