[ARCHIVED] Comprehensive Transportation Plan Input Needed

City workers on the road

The North Carolina Department of Transportation (NCDOT), the Land-of-Sky RPO (LOSRPO), Transylvania County, and its municipalities are seeking your input on the Transylvania County Comprehensive Transportation Plan (CTP) identified needs and recommendations.
CTP’s are a long-range, 25-to-30-year planning period, system focused, multi-modal transportation plan.  The plan strives to anticipate future deficiencies and provide recommendations to address them.  CTP’s incorporates land use plans, community and statewide goals and considers the human and natural environment.
To guide the CTP development process, the Transylvania County CTP workgroup was established.  The workgroup is made up of members of the Transylvania County Transportation Advisory Committee (TAC), resource advisors, county, and municipal staff, NCDOT staff, LOSRPO staff and citizen advisors from within the county.
The workgroup has developed a list of project recommendations.  The list includes highway, public transit, pedestrian, and bicycle recommendations.  Recommendations identified in CTP’s are only concepts, they do not get into specific design details.
Please take this opportunity to provide input on these recommendations via these public survey links:

There will be a public meeting held on January 10th at the Transylvania County Commissioners Chambers from 6:30 – 8PM.  There will be NCDOT, LOSRPO, county and municipal staff on hand to share additional information and answer questions.  The public survey will be open until February 1st, 2023.
