R-5799 Pisgah Forest Intersection

The N.C Department of Transportation is proposing to make improvements to the intersection of US 64/NC 280 (Asheville Highway) and US 64/US 276 (Hendersonville Highway/Pisgah Highway) in the City of Brevard in Transylvania County to address congestion and safety for auto, bicycle, and pedestrian users. Early studies indicate that a roundabout will provide the best solutions to these issues and goals.

The City has hired Mosaic Civic Studio to design improvements and enhancements such as sculptures, landscaping, and welcome signage, known as "betterments," for the Pisgah Forest gateway roundabout, as well as the entire Asheville Highway corridor leading into downtown Brevard.
